Velocity Checks

Instnt implements velocity checks for all workflows in production by default. To disable the feature, please reach out to Instnt Support. These checks look for repeated occurrences of the same information over a while to filter out malicious attempts at defeating our identity verification process.

Checks implemented

IP Address

Transaction rejected if the same IP address is submitted repetitively and excessively.

Name

The transaction is subject to review or rejection if the name of a submitted form is submitted repetitively and excessively. 

Phone

The transaction is subject to review or rejection if the phone of a submitted form is submitted repetitively and excessively.

Address

The transaction is subject to review or rejection if the address of a submitted form is submitted repetitively and excessively.

Email

The transaction is subject to review or rejection if the email of a submitted form is submitted repetitively and excessively. Aliased emails count as multiples of the same email.

Device ID

The transaction is subject to review or rejection if the device of a submitted form is submitted repetitively and excessively.

Transaction ID 

The transaction is subject to review if the transaction ID of a submitted form is submitted excessively. Transaction ID checks are only for transaction resubmission. For details on the thresholds for these checks, contact Instnt Support.
